Red Billed Leothrix

Red Billed Leothrix

Japanese Nightingale, and Japanese (Hill) Robin. It is native to the Indian Subcontinent (not Japan) and brought to Hawaii in 1918. Found mainly in wet forests, their diet consists of fruits and invertebrates. Even though colorful with a bright red bill, yellow throat & chest, orange/yellow edged wings, they are hard to spot, but their song is very loud and melodious. James Brennan Molokai Hawaii
